OCT 31: Halloween for the Hungry

community-food-bank.jpgThe Empire High School Making Other Voices Essential (MOVE) Club is hosting a safe trick or treating event on Wednesday, October 31st, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Desert Sky Middle School parking lot and will feature representatives from the community food bank, live music, and, of course, LOTS of candy for the kids.

The event is free to the public, but the MOVE Club asks that participants bring non-perishable food with them to donate to the food bank.

The goal of the event is twofold: (1) to come together as a community to provide a safe place for kids to trick or treat and (2) to start the food drive for the holidays.

Empire’s MOVE Club is looking for volunteers from the community to decorate the trunks of their cars and pass out candy to trick or treaters. There will be a prize for the best decorated car.

If you are willing to volunteer or if you have any questions about the event, e-mail Krista Gypton at gyptonk@vail.k12.az.us.
