A celebration and dedication ceremony for the opening of the new Vail Theatre of the Arts VTOTA lobby and community brick patio will be in the evening of Friday, November 2 at the Vail Theatre of the Arts, located at 10701 E Mary Ann Cleveland Way, on the campus of Empire High School. This free event will begin with a reception in the lobby at 6:30 p.m., and the dedication will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
There will be performances by Vail area talent, including The Vail Chorale, Ballet Rincon, Desert Willow Elementary music teacher, Molly Gerbi, with her barbershop quartet “Havin’ a BLAST”, Cienega High School folk/rock phenom, Alisha Peru, Empire High School’s Raven Players Theatre Group, local jazz singer, Crystal Stark, and the professional folk/country/bluegrass group, The Moonstruck Coyotes.
VTOTA and the Vail Community Action Board teamed up to sell commemorative bricks for $60 each to raise funds for both organizations. Many members of the community have purchased bricks, which have been set into a community patio near the entrance to VTOTA. The patio layout includes blank bricks, which can be replaced as additional commemorative bricks are purchased.
For information about the dedication or purchasing your own brick to be added to the community courtyard, contact Bonnie Vining at 879-3925 or email viningb@vail.k12.az.us
